Top Tuesday #3

Today’s Top Tuesday is going to be all about the Top 5 best moms in YA. In honor of Mothers day this past Sunday I wanted to tell you about my favorite fictional moms. If you’d like to see my Top 5 favorite moms in YA then keep reading!

5. Kat Hall (If I Stay, by Gayle Forman)

Kat may meet a tragic end early in the book, but there’s plenty of flashbacks to see that she was one of the coolest moms ever. I mean, the woman makes a joke about a Yo-Yo Ma mosh pit and sneaks her daughter into a casino. She loves her kids and wants to helps them achieve their dreams.

4. Natalie Prior (Divergent Series, Veronica Roth)

She may start out with a smaller role, but by the end of Divergent, we have nothing but love and pride for Tris’s mom. She protects Tris and helps her understand what is going on. Natalie stands up for Tris and eventually it kills her.

3. Lily Potter (Harry Potter Series, by J.K. Rowling)

Lily Potter literally dies for for Harry. I don’t think I need to say anymore.

2. Molly Weasley (Harry Potter Series, by J.K. Rowling)

Molly Weasley is one of my favorite moms in YA. She opens up her heart to Harry and Hermione even though they aren’t her children. She cares about them just as much as her own. She opens up her home for almost anyone and everyone. She pushes everyone to be their best and is always proud of them. The best thing about Mrs. Weasley is how she protects her family until the end.

1. Mrs. Garrett (My Life Next Door, by Huntley Fitzpatrick)

The Garretts are the best family, and at its heart is this warm, proud, welcoming mother. Any woman who can wrangle eight kids with that much sweetness and humor deserves the best mom ever award. She’s so caring and kind to everyone, not just her family.

What is your favorite fictional mom?

Any of mine make your list?
